Do the artists get compensated for their work?
Yes, our artists get paid commissions that are higher than the industry average on both a per item and percentage basis. For example, our artists earn a commission of $3 per shirt, compared to the industry average of about $1 per shirt. Additionally, our artists get a 20% discount on our product line.
We offer these higher commissions because 1) we want to attract and retain talented artists, and 2) as the sons of an artist, we believe that artists should be paid well for their work
Do you help artists to promote their work?
Yes, we help all of our artists to complete a detailed bio and provide information on the projects they are currently working on, and what projects they are interested in working on. Additionally, unlike other sites, we provide a direct link to their online portfolios so visitors to our site, and potential employers or clients, can gain further exposure to their work. We also promote each artist individually on social media with dedicated posts that feature their artwork.
Does the artwork on the site change?
Yes, we license new works from our artists as they are created and add artwork to the site depending on what our artists would like to promote.
Are there any requirements for artists to be featured on your site?
Yes, we require our artists to have an online portfolio and a minimum of at least 5 works they can license. We have these requirements because this site focuses on promoting independent artists with portfolios who are committed to furthering their careers; and we drive this focus by providing our artists with dedicated site space, clear recognition, and open access to their portfolios.
We typically work with illustrative artists who use digital mediums, and we welcome all artistic styles as we want to promote artistic diversity and offer a range of styles on our products.

What are your shipping rates?
Variable rate shipping charges are lame, and so we charge flat rate shipping costs on a per item basis according to the schedule below:
United States Outside US
First Item $6.00 $9.00
Second Item $5.00 $8.00

Fourth+ Item $3.00 $6.00
For example, if you placed an order to ship in the US for three items, your shipping cost would be $15.00 ($6 + $5 + $4). An order of 6 items shipping in the US would cost $24.00 ($6 + $5 + $4 + $3 + $3 + $3).
What brand apparel do you print on?
We print on American Apparel Fine Jersey T-Shirts and Tank Tops; made with 100% cotton jersey with a durable rib neckband (heather grey contains 10% polyester). These shirts look great and are very comfortable, made with fine-gauge, preshrunk combed cotton. You'll notice the difference in the quality of these shirts compared to other sites that source shirts made from less expensive carded cotton.
Our racerback tank tops are printed on Next Level Tri-Blend Jersey fabric, made with 50% polyester, 25% ring-spun combed cotton, and 25% rayon. This fabric is incredibly soft and provides great drape, stretch, and recovery.
Our women's v-neck shirts are printed on comfortable and lightweight Next Level High-End Jersey fabric, made from 100% ring-spun combed cotton (heather grey contains 10% polyester).
Our baseball tees are printed on soft, classic knit Sport-Tek Jersey, made from 100% ring-spun combed cotton.
Our zip hoodies are printed on Alternative Apparel Rocky Eco Fleeces, made from a blend of cotton, recycled polyester, and natural rayon, knitted to recreate a broken-in comfort and softness inspired by vintage t-shirts. Alternative Apparel utilizes non-toxic, low impact dyes on their Eco-fabrics and is dedicated to using sustainable materials.
Our pullover hoodies are printed on American Apparel California Fleeces, made from 100% preshrunk extra soft ring-spun combed cotton. These fleeces are thick for providing warmth, yet comfortable and breathable, and you’ll notice the difference from typical hoodies made from synthetic fleece.
Do you offer additional apparel colors beyond what is displayed for each product?
Yes, we can add additional colors for our apparel if you would like to request a color in particular for a product that is not currently offered. Please click on the links below to see the full color offerings for each type of apparel. If you would like to request a color addition for a product, please let us know on our Contact Us page, or at towerthreads(at)gmail.com.
Additionally, if there is artwork you would like to see on a product on which it is not currently offered (for instance, a poster), please feel free to request additional product offerings as well.
Will the items I order look exactly like they do on your website?
The images of items on our site are a very accurate representation of what the physical product will look like. Our products use high quality materials and screen printing techniques, but we cannot 100% guarantee that the color of the item, or the color, size, or placement of the print, will be exactly as you see it on our site.
Do you accept returns and offer refunds?
We will accept returns and offer refunds only if an item suffers from a manufacturer’s defect or an item differing from the inventory of the original order was shipped. All incorrectly shipped items or items suffering from a manufacturer’s defect must be claimed via email within 7 days of order delivery, must remain unworn and unwashed, and must be returned with a postmark that falls within 7 days of email acknowledgement of the return claim by a towerthreads.com representative. Please submit any return & refund claims to towerthreads(at)gmail.com.
How long will it take my order to ship?
Orders are usually produced and shipped within 3 to 6 business days; for high volume orders, additional time might be required. For orders outside of the US, transit times can range from 2 to 5 weeks and delivery may be subject to delay by customs/import duties and local postal procedures.
